By Wini Nduta Contrary to popular belief your natural hair needs water. Badly. Whether open or in braid, your hair needs to be moisturized in order to stay healthy. Now, I'm not talking about the eight glasses of water a day here. Even though drinking water does help. I'm talking about spritzing a bit from your spray bottle onto your hair to keep it moisturized. Have you noticed that it is easier to comb your hair when it is wet? Natural hair is weak when dry, this is why when your hair is dry and you try to comb it, you will experience a lot of breakage. I wash my hair in the shower and use a wide toothed comb when de-tangling. I have less breakage now. One can tell by what is left on the comb after you comb your hair. Moisture can be in the form of water, oils or hair lotions or leave-in conditioners. It depends on what works best for your hair type. I use plain old water then apply some olive oil or castor oil to my scalp and edges.
People choose to add these oils into their spray bottle which I think is a great idea. It cuts down on application time. So moisturize your hair today. It will thank you!
