If you scroll down my Instagram feed it’s no secret that I have two adorable pet cats: Mocha (male) and Minnie (female). It’s about time I blogged about them, and even share some of my tips when it comes to taking care of cats. Tip 1: Before you get a cat, it is important to prepare. Make sure your home is ‘cat-friendly,’ that is, make sure you have a warm area where your cat can sleep, pet food and eating trays, plus a few toys to keep him/her entertained. It is also important to keep a litter-box, depending on how you train your cat, and also where you live e.g. an apartment. My cats always go out and finish their ‘business,’ but they were able to do this er they were more than 9 months old and able to play outside. Tip 2: If you love your furniture/clothes (basically any precious item) so much, restrict the areas in which your cat can access. Cats can get into everything and play with anything they want! Restrict the areas in which your cat can play, and you won’t end up with ripped furniture or cat fur everywhere. Tip 3: Speaking of cat fur, grooming is an important part of raising a cat. Even though they clean themselves, which takes a load off your plate, you still need to brush their fur regularly. If fur gets onto furniture, you can easily remove it using rubber gloves.
Tip 4: What if your cat pee’s on your favorite pair of shoes? There’s nothing worse than the stink of cat urine. To remove the smell, sprinkle a little bit of baking soda to the area (once it is dry). Mix 3/4 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide with one teaspoon of dish detergent and sprinkle it over the baking soda. Blot the mixture with a paper towel and wait for it to dry. Tip 5: Love your cat! There’s no point in getting a pet if you are not going to love it and give it some attention every now and again. Pets can pick you up when you’re feeling down, and they can also sense when they are not loved, so make sure you have a lot of love to give. “You’re such a sweetheart…” I hear that a lot. Perhaps it’s my smile…or my naturally kind nature... (I know a friend who will laugh at that last statement). I know it’s most likely my face that portrays that sweet, caring and kind-type of persona, so with this blogpost I had planned to own the look. The light pink A-line skirt was the highlight of the look, especially since pink depicts innocence and youthfulness. I offset the pink with a black top and black pumps so that the bright color could stand out more. Did I mention that I thrifted the skirt too? Hell yeah! I also have to say a big thank you to my good friend and pro-photographer, Steve who passed by and took the fab images :-) You can check out more of his photography at steveink.blogspot.com. I hit the ground running by finally (!) buying a domain for the blog. I can now officially welcome TheFabDiaries.com. I’m so excited, especially since this has taken quite a few months to plan and lots of work too. The larger picture will soon take shape, and I will involve you (my fabulous reader) a lot more too. Thanks for stopping by Fab One’s.
