By Lizbeth Kariuki I've always loved the Met Gala. Celebrities always manage to pull all the stops with artistic, architectural or just plain-crazy fashion statements. Here are the best looks: Then came the worst: Forgive me for being a little biased, but I absolutely love Lupita no matter what she wears. There were a lot of feathers in her Prada 20's inspired frock, but I loved it. All images are courtesy of Getty Images, unless otherwise stated.

By Lizbeth Kariuki If you do not know who Lupita Nyong’o is by now, you must have just woken up from a coma or been living under a rock. The graceful and poised Kenyan actress has, lately, been rocking the fashion world and the Hollywood red carpet. Brands such as the Italian Miu Miu have already scooped her up to run in their Spring/Summer fashion campaign, and with good reason; the woman is stunning. In my opinion, Lupita manages to pull off every red carpet look flawlessly because she knows exactly what goes well with her skin tone. Plus, it does not hurt that she has an extremely toned body, and don’t get me started about her Michelle-Obama-type arms. I have pulled together some of her best looks from the red carpet. Click here to read my comments on her looks. All photo's, unless otherwise stated are courtesy of Getty Images. Our Take on the Cape Trend By Lizbeth Kariuki Women really are Modern-day superheroes, and I think that's why the cape trend is so in especially on several red carpets since towards the end of last year. This year at the Golden Globe awards, there is no doubt Lupita Nyong'o really did the cape trend flawlessly. I also really liked Gwyneth Paltrow in her white Tom Ford column gown at the 2012 Academy Awards-talk about staying way ahead of the trends. Since this trend is really picking, I have put together a couple of ways you can make this trend less high-fashion and more functional for you. |
